Lubricate the motor according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Remove oil, dust, or scale deposits from the motor.

Clean and lubricate motor at the close of each operating season.

Ensure there is no interference with the free rotation of the fan drive before starting the motor.

Run the motor for three hours to dry out windings and relubricate bearing surfaces.

Ensure bearings are adequately lubricated before returning motor to service at the start of a new operating season.

Ensure mechanical equipment is inoperable during maintenance

Lock out electrical system disconnect switch

Avoid standing, sitting, or walking on top of the tower

Use an appropriate ladder for upper surface maintenance

Check float valve for proper operation

Check float valve for proper water level

Wear proper personal protective equipment

Inspect general operation conditions

Report any bacterial growth to water treatment expert

Component Inspection and Cleaning

Check for continuous water discharge during operation

Record the concentration levels of dissolved solids

Enter the blowdown rate percentage

Ensure water treatment chemicals are not added via the cold water basin

Bearing Housing Oil Level Check

Check the oil level in the oil cup at shutdown

Fill to the proper level with SAE 30 (ISO 100) weight oil if necessary

Refill with SAE 30 (ISO 100) weight oil
