Check for continuous water discharge during operation

Enter the current concentration level of dissolved solids

Select the concentration range for treatment schedule

Ensure water treatment chemicals are not added via the cold water basin

Bearing Housing Oil Level Check

Check the oil level in the oil cup at shutdown.

Is the oil level in the oil cup adequate?

Fill the oil cup to the proper level with SAE 30 (ISO 100) weight oil if necessary.

Operate the system until the oil is warm.

Drain the warm oil from the bearing housing.

Refill the bearing housing with SAE 30 (ISO 100) weight oil.

Ensure mechanical equipment is inoperable during maintenance

Lock out electrical system disconnect switch

Use appropriate ladder for upper surface maintenance

Check float valve for proper operation

Check water level for proper setting

Basin and Suction Screen Maintenance

Ensure mechanical equipment is inoperable during maintenance

Lock out electrical system disconnect switch

Use appropriate ladder for accessing tower's upper surfaces

Is the belt tension within the recommended range?

Drain the entire system including cooling tower, system piping, and heat exchangers

Make necessary repairs to the cooling tower

Apply protective coating to all metal parts

Inspect and pay attention to bearing housing supports

Is the shutdown period longer than seasonal?
