Record inspection and maintenance performed

Check for moisture or dirt accumulations on parts

Describe the source of moisture or dirt, if found

Check belts for wear and tightness

Are the belts showing signs of wear?

Are the belts properly tightened?

Use matched belts for multi-groove pulleys

Loosen the tensioning device to remove the belt by hand

Ensure belts are not forced on or off

Ensure the following conditions are met before lubrication

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the seal

Was a high grade lithium base grease used?

Check for overpacking or contamination

Is the lubrication interval appropriate for the environmental conditions?

Disconnect, lock, and tag power source before servicing.

Ensure the unit is made non-functional by removing fuses and locking off disconnect.

Clean exterior surfaces of the motor to remove dust buildup.

Are grease fittings provided on the motor?

Is the motor temperature below 104ºF (40ºC)?

Replace grease in motors with fittings if applicable.

Disconnect power source and lock out tag

Ensure unit is non-functional (fuses removed, disconnect locked off)

Are you qualified and familiar with local codes and regulations?

Clean exterior surfaces of the motor

Ensure no dust buildup remains on the motor housing

Was the cleaning performed evenly to avoid out of balance condition?
