Stand clear of the discharge port

Enter the system operating pressure

Enter the relief valve set pressure

Is the system operating pressure at 75% of the relief valve set pressure?

Manually open the relief valve with the hand lever and check for proper operation

Check for 'CHANGE AIR FILTER' message display.

Is the 'CHANGE AIR FILTER' message displayed?

Filter Element Removal and Inspection

Remove the wingnut and pull out the filter element.

Visually inspect the filter element for cleaning necessity.

Does the filter element require cleaning?

Soak the element in warm water with mild nonsudsing detergent for 15 minutes.

Check for dirt accumulation on components

Clean the exterior fin surfaces of the cores if required

Ensure effective heat dissipation by keeping cooling surfaces clean

Ensure the unit is completely off and no air pressure is in the oil reservoir.

Disconnect, tag, and lockout power supply to the starter.

Remove screws holding the top plate to the separator housing.

Lift the top plate from the separator housing.

Lift the separator from the separator housing.

Separator Inspection and Replacement

Inspect the separator for damage.

Change the compressor lubricant. Under adverse conditions, change more frequently. Flush system if required.

Upgrading to a longer life lubricant

Break low point connections and drain oil from pipe runs

Dump oil from the filter and reinstall used filter

Fill the system with a 50 percent charge of the new lubricant
