Verify all system components are correctly installed and operational

Enter the cold fill pressure for the system

Is the cold fill pressure correct?

Monitor the system pressure as the boiler heats up

Is the pressure rise within acceptable limits?

Inspect automatic air vents and air separators

Remove air vent caps and briefly press push valve to flush vent

Verify that boiler area is free of any hazards

Verify that air intake area is free of contaminants

If contaminants are present, have they been removed?

If contaminants cannot be removed, have the air and vent lines been reinstalled per the manual?

Check pressure/temperature gauge

Enter the current pressure reading from the gauge

Enter the current temperature reading from the gauge

Is the pressure within the normal range?

Remove the ignition electrode from the burner plate

Remove both flame sense electrodes from the burner plate

Remove deposits from the ignition/flame sense electrodes using sandpaper

Were the electrodes cleaned satisfactorily?

Replace electrodes if they cannot be cleaned satisfactorily

Ensure the following are in good condition and correctly positioned

Low Water Cutoff Test and Reset

Reset button (low water cutoff)

Piping Inspection and Leak Check

Inspect all water and gas piping and verify to be leak free

Look for signs of leaking lines and correct any problems found

Inspect flame through observation windows

Is the flame satisfactory at both high fire and low fire?

Clean the burner thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air

Shut down the boiler following the 'To Turn Off Gas to Appliance' instructions

Do not drain the boiler unless it will be exposed to freezing temperatures

Allow time for the boiler to cool to room temperature if it has been firing

Remove the top access panel(s) to gain access to the gas/air manifold assembly

Remove the gas/air manifold burner access cover

Remove the nuts/washers holding the burner to the gas/air manifold assembly
