Verify that the boiler area is free of hazards

Verify that the air intake area is free of contaminants

Are there any contaminants present in the boiler intake air vicinity?

If contaminants cannot be removed, have the air and vent lines been reinstalled per the manual?

Check pressure/temperature gauge

Enter the current pressure reading from the gauge

Enter the current temperature reading from the gauge

Is the pressure within the normal operating range?

Check fill water meter for water usage

Is the water usage amount within 5% of your system volume?

If the amount exceeds 5%, have the system checked for leaks and fixed by a qualified service technician

Flue Vent System and Air Piping Inspection

Check vent piping and air piping

Visually inspect the entire flue gas venting system and air piping for blockage, deterioration, or leakage

Repair any joints that show signs of leakage

Verify that air inlet pipe is connected and properly sealed

Verify that boiler vent discharge and air intake are clean and free of obstructions

Air and Vent Termination Screens

Check air and vent termination screens

Inspect boiler ground wire from the heat exchanger access cover to ground terminal strip.

Verify all wiring is in good condition and securely attached.

Check ground continuity of wiring using continuity meter.

Is the ground continuity satisfactory?

Replace ground wires if ground continuity is not satisfactory.

Inspect flame through observation windows.

Is the flame satisfactory at both high fire and low fire?

Is cleaning performed inside a building?

Remove and clean the burner using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

Shut down the boiler following the 'To Turn Off Gas to Appliance' instructions.

Will the boiler be exposed to freezing temperatures?

Is freeze prevention fluid used in the system?
