Remove the ignition and both flame sense electrodes from the burner plate.

Remove any deposits accumulated on the ignition/flame sense electrodes using sandpaper.

Were the electrodes cleaned satisfactorily?

Replace ignition/flame sense electrodes.

Ensure the gaskets are in good condition and correctly positioned.

Follow the 'To Turn Off Gas to Appliance' instructions

Is the boiler exposed to freezing temperatures? If yes, drain the boiler unless using freeze prevention fluid.

Allow boiler to cool to room temperature if it has been firing

Remove the top access panel to access the gas/air manifold assembly

Remove the nuts securing the burner to the burner mounting plate and remove the burner

Remove the nuts securing the burner mounting plate from the heat exchanger and set aside the entire burner mounting plate assembly

Test boiler water according to the Crest Installation and Operation Manual guidelines.

Does the test indicate the need for cleaning the system water?

Clean system water with approved system restorer following the manufacturer’s information.

Record any observations or issues found during the test.

Technician's signature to confirm completion of the test.

Inspect boiler ground wire from the heat exchanger access cover to ground terminal strip.

Verify all wiring is in good condition and securely attached.

Check ground continuity of wiring using continuity meter.

Is the ground continuity satisfactory?

Replace ground wires if ground continuity is not satisfactory.

Flue Vent System and Air Piping Inspection

Inspect flue gas venting system and air piping for blockage, deterioration, or leakage

Repair any joints that show signs of leakage

Verify air inlet pipe is connected and properly sealed

Verify boiler vent discharge and air intake are clean and free of obstructions
