Measure the water hardness in grains per gallon

Is the water hardness between 5 and 12 grains per gallon?

Consult local water treatment companies for hard water areas (above 12 grains per gallon hardness)

Measure the pH level of the water

Is the pH level between 6.5 and 8.5?

Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) Check

Measure the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in ppm

Flush the entire heating system prior to fill and start-up

Clean the entire heating system with an approved pre-commissioning cleaner

Clean all water filtering devices in the system

Flush the cleaning solution out of the entire system and refill

Turn the main power off to the boiler by placing the 'On/Off' switch in the OFF position.

Remove the fitting from the flue collector.

Insert the probe from a combustion analyzer into the hole left by the removal of the fitting.

Turn the main power on to the boiler by placing the 'On/Off' switch in the ON position.

Navigate to the Setup Screen from the Home Screen by pressing the SETUP button along the left side of the screen.

Ensure the water meets the requirements of the manual before filling the system.

Fill to correct system pressure

Did the pressure rise when the boiler was turned ON and system water temperature increased?

Check the system thoroughly for any leaks during initial fill and boiler startup.

Repair all leaks before proceeding further.

Connect a hose to the purge valve and route it to a drainage area.

Check around the boiler for gas odor (connecting gas supply piping)

Is there any evidence of a gas leak?

Shut down the boiler immediately if a gas leak is detected

Describe the location and nature of the gas leak

Perform a bubble test to find the leak source

Repair the gas leak immediately

Has the gas leak been corrected?
