Verify that boiler area is free of any combustible materials, gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids.

Verify that air intake area is free of any contaminants.

If contaminants are present, have they been removed or air and vent lines reinstalled as per manual?

Remove the front access covers and inspect the interior of the boiler.

Vacuum any sediment from inside the boiler and components. Remove any obstructions.

Inspect the condensate drain line, vent line, condensate PVC fittings, and condensate trap.

Test boiler water according to the Crest Installation and Operation Manual guidelines.

Does the test indicate the need for cleaning the system water?

Clean system water with approved system restorer following the manufacturer’s information.

Inspect flame through observation windows.

Is the flame satisfactory at both high fire and low fire?

Was the burner removed for cleaning?

Clean the burner thoroughly using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air.

Shut down the boiler following the 'To Turn Off Gas to Appliance' instructions.

Will the boiler be exposed to freezing temperatures?

Record the flame signal at high fire for each combustion system

Is the flame signal at least 10 microamps?

Troubleshooting Low Flame Signal

Clean the flame sense electrodes

Is the ground wiring in good condition?

Is the ground continuity satisfactory?

Replace the flame sense electrode if necessary

Check all settings on the Setup Screen

Check settings of external limit controls (if any)

Adjust external limit control settings if necessary
