1 Monthly Scoop Stretcher Inspection
Pre-Inspection Preparation
Ensure the stretcher is stored in a dry, indoor environment.
Gather necessary cleaning supplies and tools for inspection.
Component Check
Check that all components are present and in place
Inspect all screws, pins, and levers for correct and firm positioning.
Verify that all mobile parts move normally and correctly.
Structural Integrity Check
Inspect for any worn or damaged parts on the stretcher.
Scoop Stretcher Cleaning
Cleaning and Disinfection
Clean the surfaces of the stretcher with a non-abrasive surface disinfectant
Ensure the stretcher is not immersed directly in disinfectant
Check for signs of wear and/or damage during disinfection
Drying Process
Dry the stretcher with a cloth
Ensure all components of the device are completely dry before reuse
Safety Precautions
Wear suitable gloves during disinfection
Restraints With Metal Buckle Cleaning
Preparation and Initial Checks
Ensure there are no signs of wear and/or damage on the restraints.
Wear suitable PPE based on the Risk Assessment Document.
Sanitisation Process
Remove the restraints from the device and stretch them to their maximum length.
Remove visible material using a disposable cloth and/or paper and dispose of it in the specific container for special waste.
Immerse the restraints in a container with water and sanitising product, leaving metal and plastic parts outside. Soak for 5-20 minutes.
Was the buckle soaked for more than 5 minutes?
If necessary, wash the buckle with mild soap and water, ensuring it does not soak for more than 5 minutes.
Restraints With Plastic Buckle Cleaning
Remove the restraints from the product
Place the restraints inside a mesh bag and put it in the washing machine
Wash the restraints with hot water using a cleaning and disinfecting product and selecting a cycle for delicate items, with slow spin. Do not bleach.
Remove the restraints from the mesh bag and let them dry in the open air. Do not tumble dry.
Re-fit the restraints only once they are dry

When not in use, store the stretcher in an indoor environment that is dry and protected from direct sunlight.
After disinfection/cleaning, ensure that the stretcher and its components are completely dry before use.
