Ensure the transducer is not dropped on hard surfaces.

Avoid kinking or pinching the transducer cable.

Use only approved ultrasonic coupling gels.

Follow the cleaning and disinfecting instructions for each probe.

Ensure only professionally trained personnel use the probes.

Do not use pressure sterilizers on probes; use disposable sterile probe hoods in sterile areas.

Avoid scratching the probe surface during operation.

Ensure the following precautions are observed

Cleaning Procedure for All Probes

Wipe remaining coupling gel and blot with clear water

Clean probe with wet gauze and liquid soap

Rinse with flowing water and scrub with 70% isopropyl alcohol

Dry the probe with a clean cloth

Disinfection Procedure for Intracavity Probes

Clean the probe following the cleaning procedure

Wear gloves before starting the cleaning process

Disconnect the probe from the system

Remove any cover from the probe (if applicable)

Wipe the probe with a soft cloth to remove coupling gel

Rinse the probe with flowing water

Wash the probe with mild soap in lukewarm water

Turn off the power before cleaning

Pull out the cable from socket to prevent electric shock

Select the cleaning method based on device condition

Wrap the machine with the selected cloth

Wipe the blot with the wet cloth if used

Use soft dry cloth to wipe dry after cleaning
