Battery - Clean
Clean the battery surface with a clean cloth. Keep the terminals clean and keep the terminals coated with petroleum jelly. Install the post cover after you coat the terminal post with petroleum jelly
Battery Hold-Down - Tighten
Tighten the hold-downs for the battery in order to prevent the batteries from moving during machine operation.
Engine Valve Lash - Check
WARNING: Ensure that the engine can not be started while this maintenance is being performed. To help prevent possible injury, do not use the starting motor to turn the flywheel.
WARNING: Hot engine components can cause burns. Allow additional time for the engine to cool before measuring/adjusting valve lash clearance.
NOTICE:
Only qualified service personnel should perform this maintenance. Refer to the Systems Operation/Testing and Adjusting Manual, “Valve Lash and Valve Bridge Adjustment” article or consult your Caterpillar dealer for the complete valve lash adjustment procedure.

Cooling System Coolant Sample (Level 2) - Obtain
Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, “Cooling System Coolant Sample (Level 1) - Obtain” for the guidelines for proper sampling of the coolant.
Sample of the coolant obtained as close as possible to the recommended sampling interval?
Supplies for collecting samples can be obtained from your Cat dealer.
Sample submitted for Level 2 analysis?
For additional information about coolant analysis, refer to Special Publication, SEBU6250, “Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations” or consult your Cat dealer.

100 Hourly Mini Hydraulic Excavator Maintenance
Swing Gear and Bearing - Lubricate
Lower all work tools to the ground.
Open the right side access door.
Wipe all grease fittings before you lubricate the grease fittings.
Apply lubricant through fitting (1) until the old lubricant is pushed out from the seal surface.
Apply lubricant through fitting (2).
Rotate the upper structure for 90°.
Repeat Step 5 and Step 6 until the upper structure has rotated 360°.
Close the right side access door.
