Observe all operational parts for proper performance

Check electrical foot switch before use

Remove foot switch from operating area when not in use

JOG ram down to the bottom of the stroke. Hold switch, read pressure.

Is the pressure within the maximum limit of 2,500 psi?

Adjust the main relief valve to increase pressure

Screw in the main relief valve 1/4 turn at a time and re-check pressure

Tighten the jam nut on the relief valve once proper pressure is set

Adjust pressure on machines with variable tonnage control

Flush the tank thoroughly to remove old oil

Install a new return filter cartridge before adding new oil

Replace return line filter (at least yearly or more frequently with heavy use)

Refilling and Bleeding the Hydraulic System

Fill the hydraulic reservoir with 10W ISO 32, non-foaming oil

Cycle the Press Brake for 5 minutes at maximum stroke to remove trapped air

Initial Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect and clean the following parts for dirt and foreign material

Remove rust proofing compound with an acceptable solvent

Use safety glasses and gloves during cleaning

Clean the Press Brake with an approved solvent and clean rags

Ensure no air hose or waste cloth is used during cleaning

Ensure the ram is coming down at the same speed at both ends

Turn RUN/JOG switch to RUN position

Cycle the machine two to three times and note which indicator light comes on first

Do both indicator lights blink at the same time?

If lights do not blink together

Loosen lock nuts on the adjustment knobs

Turn both adjustment knobs out to stops and tighten lock nuts
