Observe all operational parts for proper performance

Check electrical foot switch before use

Initial Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect and clean the following parts for dirt and foreign material

Remove dirt and foreign material manually without using an air hose

Use safety glasses and gloves during cleaning

Remove rust proofing compound with an acceptable solvent

Clean the Press Brake with an approved solvent and clean rags

Ensure no air hose or waste cloth is used during cleaning

Inspect all lines and fittings for leaks

Inspect piston rods for leaks or scoring of surface

Inspect manifold block and replace any leaking 'O' rings

Turn off power and lock MAIN DISCONNECT switch

Inspect all connections for any loose connections

JOG ram down to the bottom of the stroke. Hold switch, read pressure.

Is the pressure within the maximum limit of 2,500 psi?

Adjust pressure by screwing in the main relief valve 1/4 turn at a time. Re-check pressure.

Tighten the jam nut on the relief valve once the proper pressure is set.

For machines with variable tonnage control, adjust pressure using the valve below the pressure gauge on the control side of the Press Brake.

Tighten the thumb-lock nut on the valve once pressure is set.

Drain a pint of oil from the reservoir after several hours of operation.

Check the pump’s suction lines for air leakage if foam is present.

Take oil sample to local supplier for assessment.

Is a complete oil change needed based on supplier's assessment?
