Drain a pint of oil from the reservoir after several hours of operation

Is foam present in the drained oil?

Describe any issues with the pump’s suction lines if air leakage is suspected

Take oil sample to local supplier for assessment

Flush the tank thoroughly to remove old oil

Install a new return filter cartridge before adding new oil

Replace return line filter (at least yearly or more frequently with heavy use)

Refilling and Bleeding the System

Fill the hydraulic reservoir with 10W ISO 32, non-foaming oil

Cycle the Press Brake for 5 minutes at maximum stroke to remove trapped air

Examine cap screws for looseness

Repair or replace any loose cap screws or nuts

Filter and Strainer Maintenance

Was the return line filter changed during the previous year?

Change return line filter if not done during previous year

Flush clean the suction line strainer

Inspect all lines and fittings for leaks

Repair or replace any defective components

Inspect piston rods for leaks or scoring of surface

Replace rod packing if leaks are present

Polish surface thoroughly where scored

Inspect manifold block for leaks

Grease the two zerks on each end of the gibs at 8 hours of running time intervals.

One-Shot Lubrication (Optional)

Select usage type for one-shot lubrication

Manually pump grease into the machine using the grease pump attached to the lube station.

Operate the one-shot grease pump every 8 hours of running time.

Automatic Lubrication (Optional)

Select usage type for automatic lubrication

Ensure auto lube provides grease to all points on the gibs upon initial start-up of the Press Brake.
