Vent and Vent Connector Inspection

Check all vent and vent connector joints for tightness

Are there any blockages in the vents?

Dispose of any debris or waste found during inspection

Inspect the combustion air inducer for any visible damage or wear

Use a small brush to clean the inducer wheel

Is the combustion air inducer clean and free of debris?

Combustion Air Inducer Motor Bearings

Verify that combustion air inducer motor bearings are pre-lubricated and sealed

Are manufacturer’s instructions available for fan motor bearing lubrication?

If manufacturer’s instructions are not available

Check if motors have oiling ports

Re-lubricate motors with oiling ports using a few drops of SAE No 10 non-detergent oil

Check gas line pressure with unit firing at maximum rate

Is the gas line pressure within the specified range?

Record the adjusted manifold pressure value

Verify if a natural gas to LP/propane gas changeover kit is required

Refer to installation instructions provided with changeover kit for conversion procedure

Examine burner flames for proper appearance during the heating season

Examine burners for any deposits or blockage

Turn off both electrical and gas supplies to unit

Disconnect gas supply piping, high tension and sensor leads
