Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature.

Does the machine creep forward or reverse with the drive pedal in neutral?

Stop the engine and raise the engine cover.

Connect a tachometer to the engine.

Remove the rubber dust plugs from the DAMP and MAX adjustment holes on the governor controller.

Adjust idle speed to 1200 RPM

Main Broom Level Adjustment

Measure the length of the bristles

Is the length of the bristles 2 inches (5 cm) or less?

Install a new broom and check the broom pattern

Check mark

Remove the (7) screws holding the cover at the left end of the broom housing

Check mark

Loosen the (2) “A” bolts and lock nuts “B” and “E”

Check mark

Adjust bolts “C” and “D” to raise or lower the left end of the broom

Check mark

Check the broom pattern again

Check mark

Continue adjusting bolts “C” and “D” until the broom pattern is even

Inspect the squeegee blades

Lower the squeegee and loosen the (4) “A” bolts

Check mark

Lift the squeegee by hand to ensure blades touch the floor equally

Check mark

Tighten the (4) “A” bolts

Blade Angle Adjustment

Check mark

Note the position of the “B” caster wheel brackets in relation to squeegee mount “C”

Check mark

Loosen the “D” bolts

Check mark

Move the casters up or down by 1/8 inch (3 mm) to adjust the blade angle

Rotate the broom if the bristles are curved

Are the broom bristles worn to a length of 2 inches (5 cm) or less?
