Verify the beacon provides an intermittent or permanent spherical visual warning light upon demand

Is the beacon functioning as expected?

Testing Frequency Recommendation

Test the product at least once a year

For Fire Alarm system applications, test at least once a week

Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the unit

Avoid using dry cloths or abrasive materials

Inspect the unit for any remaining dirt or residue

Is the unit free from electrostatic charge?

Select the grease used for lubrication

Ensure the cover seal is correctly seated in its groove

Measure the gap between the faces of the cover and enclosure (in inches)

Is the gap within the maximum limit of 0.0075 inches (0.2mm)?

Ensure the power to the device is isolated before removing the cover for maintenance

Is there a possibility of an explosive atmosphere being present?

Accessing the Electronic Sub-Assembly

Refer to the access to terminals and DIL switch procedure (page 5) for details of gaining access to the electronic sub-assembly

Replacement of Electronic Sub-Assembly

Replace the electronic sub-assembly if necessary

Check that all parts are in place after replacement

Check if the beacon provides an intermittent or permanent spherical visual warning light upon demand

Record the type of visual warning light provided

Confirm the beacon is used on a Fire Alarm system

If not used on a Fire Alarm system, ensure testing is scheduled at least once a year

Record any issues found during the test
