Ensure the test is applicable to non-Fire Alarm systems

Confirm the beacon is scheduled for a yearly test

Does the beacon provide an intermittent or permanent spherical visual warning light upon demand?

Record the test results in the maintenance log

Technician's signature to confirm completion of the test

Ensure installation has been completed and the device is fully sealed and secured

Check that the cover seal is correctly seated in its groove

Measure the gap between the faces of the cover and enclosure

Post-Installation Documentation

Ensure a copy of the manual is made available to all operating personnel

Does the unit require cleaning?

Clean the exterior with a damp cloth only

Ensure no dry cloths or abrasive materials are used

Ensure the power to the device is isolated before removing the cover for maintenance

Confirm no explosive atmosphere is present before opening the device

Refer to the access to terminals and DIL switch procedure (page 5) for details of gaining access to the electronic sub-assembly

Replacement of Electronic Sub-Assembly

Replace the electronic sub-assembly if necessary

Inspect the beacon for any visible damage or wear.

Is the GRP material showing any signs of chemical attack?

Check resistance against the following substances

Does the beacon require maintenance under current conditions?
