Use a special pipe dope for assembling wrought iron or steel pipe

Clean all piping of dirt and scale by hammering on the outside of the pipe

Blow out loose particles from the pipe

Have all gas lines external to the unit been purged of air?

Inspect the unit for visible damage during transit.

Note the extent of any damage on the carrier’s freight bill.

Request inspection by the carrier’s agent in writing.

Ensure installation complies with enclosed instructions and applicable codes.

Is the furnace and its shut-off valve disconnected from the gas supply piping system?

Ensure all gas connections are completed

Open the main shut-off valve to admit normal gas pressure to the mains

Use a commercially available soap solution for leak detection

Confirm no open flames are used during the leak test

Loosen the three nuts (A and B on side and C on back) of motor mount slide plate.

Adjust tension by placing a flat head screwdriver into the belt tightening slots and applying pressure against the motor mounting plate.

Tighten the three loosened nuts (A, B and C).

Determine the deflection distance from normal position using a straight edge from sheave to sheave as reference line.

Use belt tension checker to apply a perpendicular force to the belt at the midpoint of the span and measure deflection distance.

Is the deflection distance 4mm (5/32")?

Ensure ZX units are properly phased at the factory

Is the blower rotating in the correct direction at start-up?

Is the electrical connection to the unit correctly phased?

Change the phasing of the Field Line Connection if necessary

High-Leg Delta Power Supply Check

Measure voltage of A or L1 phase to ground

Measure voltage of B or L2 phase to ground
