CAUTION: Always charge in liquid form. Take care not to slug the compressor.

CAUTION: Compressor damage will occur if system is improperly charged.

CAUTION: Do not leave the system open to the atmosphere. Unit damage could occur due to moisture being absorbed by the POE oil in the system.

WARNING: Do NOT attempt to pump Total System Charge into outdoor unit for maintenance, service, etc. This may cause damage to the compressor and/or other components.

CAUTION: It is unlawful to knowingly vent, release or discharge refrigerant into the open air during repair, service, maintenance or the final disposal of this unit.

CAUTION: Refrigerant charging should only be carried out by a qualified air conditioning contractor.

CAUTION: Compressor damage will occur if system is improperly charged.

Determine outdoor unit factory charge from Tabular Data Sheet

Determine indoor coil adjustment (if any) from Tabular Data Sheet

Are the outdoor coils and other parts in the air circuit clean?

If not, clean using a brush, vacuum cleaner attachment, or other suitable means.

Are the outdoor fan motor bearings functioning properly?

Note: The bearings are permanently lubricated and do not require periodic oiling.

If yes, wash with Calgon Coilclean (mix one part Coilclean to seven parts water). Allow solution to remain on coil for 30 minutes before rinsing with clean water. Solution should not be permitted to come in contact with painted surfaces.

In order to energize the crankcase heater, set the indoor cooling thermostat to the OFF position

Close the line power disconnect to the unit

IMPORTANT: An attempt to start the compressor without at least 8 hours of crankcase heat will damage the compressor

With power to unit and thermostat in cooling position

In the cooling cycle, discharge gas is pumped to the outdoor coil which is the condenser. The indoor coil is the evaporator. Is this correct?

If the fan switch is in ON position, a circuit is made through the blower relay to provide continuous blower operation. Is the fan switch in ON position?

With the fan switch in AUTO position, a circuit is made from the thermostat cooling contact through the blower relay to provide blower operation. Is the fan switch in AUTO position?
