Pump Maintenance
8.1 Filling and Venting
Switch off the pump
Close the check valve on the pressure side
Protect electrical parts from any escaping water
Carefully open the venting screw using a suitable tool
Is the necessary inlet pressure present at the suction side of the pump?
Carefully push back the motor shaft with a screwdriver several times
Wait for 15 to 30 seconds before screwing the venting screw back in
Screw the venting screw back in
Pump Startup Check
8 Commissioning
Verify installation and connection
Is the sealing screw including the flat gasket in place?
Prime and vent the unit correctly
Ensure automatic venting of the pump rotor compartment after a short operating period
Is dry running limited to short periods?
Ensure no unauthorized removal of components
Frequency Converter Check
7.2.3 Frequency converter operation
Verify applicable motor series
Are output filters installed to reduce noise and avoid voltage spikes?
Select the type of filter used for noise reduction
Enter the rate of voltage rise (du/dt) in V/μs
Is the rate of voltage rise within the limit of du/dt < 500 V/μs?
Enter the voltage spikes value (û) in V
Are the voltage spikes within the limit of û < 650 V?
Enter the minimum voltage at connection terminals (Umin) in V
Motor Maintenance
9.1 Dismantling/installation of the motor
Read the chapters 'Dismantling/installation of the motor' and 'Decommissioning' before maintenance, cleaning, and repair work.
Comply with safety instructions
Close the existing check valves on both sides of the pump before dismantling the motor.
Allow the pump to cool to room temperature.
Drain the isolated branch of the system.
If no check valves are fitted, drain the entire system.
Observe manufacturer's information and safety data sheets on possible additives in the unit.
Comply with national regulations for accident prevention to avoid injury from falling motor.
Rotation Direction Check
8.2 Rotation direction monitoring
Check the direction of rotation indicator light on the terminal box
Briefly switch the pump on to check the direction of rotation
If the direction of rotation is incorrect, electrically isolate the pump
Interchange 2 phases in the terminal box
Restart the pump
Verify the motor's direction of rotation corresponds to the arrow on the rating plate
