Discharge all energy storing devices such as capacitors
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures
Secure rotor to prevent freewheeling

Check air filters for clogging or dirtiness

Clean air filters if they are dirty
Coil Maintenance
Preparation for Winterization
Identify coil type
Locate 'Service Model No of Coil' on the coil section nameplate
Is the coil type identified?
Draining and Venting Coils
Remove the vent and drain plugs
Blow the coil out with compressed air
Fill and drain the coil with full strength glycol several times
Drain the coil out as completely as possible
Fan Wheel Set Screws Check
Safety Precautions
Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects
Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures
Fan Wheel Set Screws Check
Check fan wheel set screws for tightness
Adjust fan wheel set screws if necessary
Refer to Table 44 for recommendations
Steam and Water Coils Cleaning
Safety Precautions
Disconnect all electrical power to the unit
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Preparation
Use a soft brush to remove loose debris from both sides of the coil
Install a block-off to prevent spray from going through the coil
Cleaning Solution Preparation
Mix a high-quality coil cleaning detergent with water according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Does the detergent have a pH of 8.5 or higher?
