Disconnect all electrical power to the unit

Secure rotor to prevent freewheeling

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Vacuum the section with a HEPA filter vacuum device

Clean contaminated areas with a mild bleach and water solution or EPA-approved sanitizer

Disconnect all electrical power to the unit

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Use a soft brush to remove loose debris from both sides of the coil

Install a block-off to prevent spray from going through the coil

Mix a high-quality coil cleaning detergent with water

Does the detergent have a pH of 8.5 or higher after mixing?

Acknowledge understanding of safety precautions

Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Is there evidence of standing water or condensate overflow?

Identify and remedy the cause of standing water or overflow

Disconnect all electrical power to the unit

Inspect the unit casing for chips and corrosion

Clean and repaint if damage is found

Remove rust from the shaft with an emery cloth and recoat with L.P.S. 3 or equivalent

Check damper linkages, fan set screws, and blade adjustment

Disconnect all electrical power including remote disconnects

Discharge all energy storing devices such as capacitors

Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures

Secure rotor to prevent freewheeling

Inspect air filters for clogging or dirtiness

Is the filter clogged or dirty?

Clean the air filter if it is dirty
