Disconnect all electrical power to the unit

Secure rotor to prevent freewheeling

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Vacuum the section with a HEPA filter vacuum device

Clean contaminated areas with a mild bleach and water solution or EPA-approved sanitizer

Disconnect all electrical power to the unit

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Mechanically remove microbial growth

Install a block-off to prevent spray from entering dry sections

Clean contaminated areas with EPA-approved sanitizer

Rinse affected surfaces with fresh water and sponge

Repeat cleaning and rinsing if necessary

Safety precautions for electrical and mechanical hazards

Inspect the unit casing for chips and corrosion

Clean and repaint if damage is found

Remove rust from the shaft with an emery cloth

Recoat shaft with L.P.S. 3 or equivalent

Check damper linkages, fan set screws, and blade adjustment

Install field-fitted drains and vents if not already present

Is the coil exposed to temperatures below 35 degrees?

Remove the vent and drain plugs

Blow the coil out with compressed air

Number of times the coil is filled and drained with glycol

Drain the coil as completely as possible

Ensure all electric power is disconnected, including remote disconnects

Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures

Inspect fan motors for excessive vibration

Inspect fan motors for excessive temperature

Determine the frequency of inspection based on operating conditions
