Clean exterior of air filter housing

Clean interior of housing using a damp cloth

Replace elements and reassemble in reverse order of disassembly

Record the current reading of the maintenance gauge

Has it been 1000 hours since the last replacement?

Has it been 6 months since the last replacement?

Is this a standard compressor requiring a fluid change?

Turn off the compressor and ensure it is depressurized

Remove the old fluid filter element

Enter the desired operating pressure range (psig/bar)

Enter the maximum operating pressure from the compressor serial number nameplate (psig/bar)

Is the desired operating pressure range within the maximum operating pressure?

Remove the pressure switch cover

Ensure the shut-off valve is closed or slightly cracked open

Observe the line pressure gauge

Remove the old element and gasket using a strap wrench.

Apply a light film of fluid to the new gasket.

Hand-tighten new element until new gasket is seated in the gasket groove, avoiding any nicks, cuts, or pinches to the gasket.

Continue tightening element by hand an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.

Clean exterior of air filter housing

Remove the air filter cover by loosening the wingnut securing the cover

Remove element and clean interior of housing using a damp cloth

Reassemble in the reverse order of the disassembly

Place a bright light inside the element to inspect for damage or leak holes

Inspect all gaskets and gasket contact surfaces of the housing
