Is the maintenance gauge showing red?

Order separator element numbers 250034 ---116 (primary) and 250042 ---862 (secondary).

Relieve all pressure from the sump tank and all compressor lines.

Disconnect all piping connected to the sump cover (return lines, service lines, etc.).

Loosen and remove the eight (8) hex head capscrews (5/8” x 2”) from the cover plate.

Lift the cover plate from the sump.

Clean exterior of air filter housing

Remove wingnut assembly and washer

Loosen and remove the hex nut securing the secondary element

Inspect the air filter element with a bright light for damage or leak holes

Inspect all gaskets and gasket contact surfaces of the housing

If faulty gaskets are evident, correct the condition immediately

Store the clean element in a clean container if it is to be used later

Inspect and tighten all air inlet connections after the element has been installed

Remove the old element and gasket using a strap wrench

Apply a light film of fluid to the new gasket

Hand-tighten new element until new gasket is seated in the gasket groove

Continue tightening element by hand an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn

Clean the return line strainers

Verify that all cleaned components are reassembled correctly

Ensure no foreign materials are left in the system
