Serco Hydraulic Dock Leveler HLQ1200

Read and follow the Safety Practices on page 3 and the operation section of the manual.

Place barricades on the dock floor around the dock leveler pit and in the driveway in front of the pit.

Ensure the following before maintenance

Select the hydraulic fluid to be used

Drain the old hydraulic fluid from the reservoir.

Refill the reservoir with the selected hydraulic fluid.

Check for any leaks after refilling the reservoir.

Read and follow the Safety Practices on page 3 and the Operation section in the manual.

Place barricades on the dock floor around the dock leveler pit and in the driveway in front of the pit.

Ensure the following before maintenance or repair

Primary Relief Valve Adjustment

Remove threaded cap from the primary relief valve.

Use a suitable hydraulic pressure gauge to measure relief pressure.

Is the relief pressure set at 2000 PSI?

Place barricades on the dock floor around the dock leveler pit and in the driveway in front of the pit.

Ensure the following before maintenance

Inspect all warning labels and placards. Replace as necessary.

Clean out the inside of the pit area. Avoid spraying electrical parts if washing out.

Inspect and lubricate all mechanical pivot points on the leveler with S.A.E. 30 oil. Cycle the leveler when lubricating.

Inspect all welds under the leveler for fatigue or failure, particularly the lip plate hinge and top plate beams and front hinge bar.

Place barricades on the dock floor around the dock leveler pit and in the driveway in front of the pit.

Ensure the following before maintenance

Adjust the proximity switch to be 1/16" (1.5 mm) above the end of the guard bracket.

Secure the nuts once the desired position is achieved.

Does the target bracket rotate easily by hand?

Place barricades on the dock floor around the dock leveler pit and in the driveway in front of the pit.

Ensure the following before maintenance

Clean the upper portion of the lip plate hinge with a brush and blow away all dirt and debris.

Inspect for debris in rear hinge area of the leveler and between the sides and curb angles.

Clean debris from the rear hinge area of the leveler and between the sides and curb angles.

Check the full operation of the leveler for any hesitation in the hydraulic system.
