McElroy Manufacturing Fusion Machine 1600mm

Ensure the heater is cool before installation

Check availability of necessary components

Ensure no foreign matter is trapped between heater body and plates

Seat the butt fusion heater plates on the heater body

Install butt fusion heater plates using stainless steel cap screws

Ensure bolts are not over tightened

Measure the current antifreeze level

Is the antifreeze level adequate?

Is additional antifreeze needed?

Add antifreeze in a 50/50 mix with water

Is it time to replace the antifreeze mixture?

Remove the cowling to gain access to the hydraulic pump

Start the engine and select high speed

Enter the current system pressure reading

Verify the system pressure is at the correct psi for the selected unit

Ensure the heater is turned off and cooled down before cleaning.

Wear protective gloves to prevent burns.

Use a clean, non-synthetic cloth to wipe the heater surfaces.

Ensure no plastic build-up or contamination is present on the heater surfaces.

Return the heater to its insulated heater shroud when not in use.

Verify that the cleaning cloth used was non-abrasive and non-synthetic.

Read the engine maintenance instructions

Ensure the engine is cool before starting the procedure

Locate the oil filter behind the rear cowling

Locate the dipstick on the opposite side of the engine

Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan

Locate the oil filler cap on top of the engine
