Low Profile Floor Scale Load Cell Replacement
Preparation
Lift scale with chains and proper spreader bar
Remove foot and defective load cell
Disconnect load cell cable from junction box
Cut cable ties and free the cable
Pull cable out of the scale frame channels
Installation of New Load Cells
Loosen overload stops for Canadian HC models
Place weight on affected scale corner (25% of load cell capacity)

Preparation
Remove the junction box cover
Identify the correct load cell terminal for each corner (CELL 1, CELL 2, etc.)
Refer to Figure 4-4 on page 15 for scale deck corner numbering
Initial Calibration
Connect and approximately calibrate the indicator
Enter the test weight (25% of scale capacity)
Zero the indicator with no weight on the scale

Preparation
Refer to the indicator manual for correct calibration procedures.
Exercise the scale by loading it to near capacity two or three times.
Zero Calibration
Ensure no load is on the scale.
Place the indicator in its calibration mode.
Perform a zero calibration.
Span Calibration
Enter the scale's capacity.

Preparation
Ensure all tools are available, including a pry bar and spirit level.
Verify that the scale is clean and free of debris.
Scale Feet Adjustment
Adjust each scale foot by hand until all feet are contacting the floor equally.
Did you use Teflon tape or Loctite to secure the feet?
Safety Precautions
Ensure scale foot does not bottom out against the underside of the load cell.
Check that the foot stem is not damaged by bending or stripping threads.

Are the load cells hermetically sealed?
Is the scale mounted in a pit?
Cleaning Procedure
Clean the space between the platform side and pit frame.
Clean the surface beneath the platform.
Use care with high pressure steam wash downs for hermetically-sealed load cells.
Post-Cleaning Check
