Loosen the fasteners that hold the air filter cover in position.

Remove the air filter cover (A).

Remove the filters from the filter frame.

Clean the foam filter (B) with warm soap water.

Ensure the idle speed is correctly adjusted

Verify the fuel mixture is correct

Check if the air filter is clean

Examine the spark plug for unwanted materials

Clean the spark plug if it is dirty

Ensure the electrode gap is correct

Examine the starter for damages

Examine the starter rope for damages

Examine the vibration damping units for damages and cracks

Clean the external surface of the carburetor

Clean the area around the carburetor

Examine the air intake screen for damages and ensure it is attached correctly

Remove dirt, leaves, and unwanted materials from the air intake screen

Check that all the parts are in place

Is the air intake screen free from damages after cleaning?

Was the engine temperature within the normal range before maintenance?

Describe any issues found during the maintenance

Examine all cables and connections

Spark Arrester Screen Maintenance

Examine the spark arrester screen on the muffler

Clean the spark arrester screen on the muffler
