Inspection of Fork Hooks and Carriage

Inspect the fork lower hooks and carriage bar using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Does the gauge fit between the carriage bar and lower hook?

Inspect the upper carriage bar using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Does the gauge arrow touch the carriage bar?

Inspect the fork upper hooks using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Inspect the bottom of the forks for debris wedged between the fork and the fork shoe. Remove any debris found.

Check for pinched wires at bottom of battery holders.

Inspect the battery holders for damage and debris when the battery packs are changed. Remove any debris found.

Verify that the capscrews are tight and contact tabs are not damaged or bent.

Tighten contact point capscrews if required.

Verify that only trained and authorized personnel are servicing the forks

Confirm that the end user checks accuracy regularly

Develop a periodic schedule for accuracy checks

Inspect forks after 2000 hours of truck operation or every 12 months

Inspect forks immediately if any defect or permanent deformation is detected

IMPORTANT: Only trained and authorized personnel are allowed to service forks

IMPORTANT: To prevent weighing inaccuracies, the end user is responsible to check accuracy on a regular basis at intervals that best fit their application and requirements. Development of a periodic schedule will prevent faulty readings. Cascade recommends a minimum interval of every 12 months or 2000 hours, whichever comes first.

Tighten fork shoe nut to a torque of 82 ft.-lbs. (111 Nm)

Is it necessary to replace the cover spool, fork shoe capscrews and nuts?

Ensure only trained and authorized personnel perform the cleaning

Verify that all safety equipment is in place and operational

Use a mild cleanser to wipe down the forks with a towel

Rinse the fork with a non-pressurized stream of water

Has the accuracy been checked within the last 12 months or 2000 hours?

Record the date and results of the last accuracy check
