Ensure the attachment is mounted on the truck

Verify if the contact pads need replacement or swapping

Contact Pad Removal and Installation

Remove the capscrews and nuts fastening the contact pad to the stabilizer

Choose the action for the contact pads

Ensure the contact pads are securely fastened

Inspect the arm bearings for wear

Are any bearings worn to less than .040 in. (1 mm) thickness?

Replace all bearings if any are worn to less than .040 in. (1 mm) thickness

Frame Mounting Plate Capscrews Tightening

Tighten the frame mounting plate capscrews to the specified torque value

Drill out the rivets using .187 in. (4.8 mm) drill bit from the front side of the arm.

Align the new contact surface to the arm.

Drill through using .187 in. (4.8 mm) drill bit.

Rivet the contact surface to the arm.

Align the new contact surface to the arm.

Drill the holes along the front edge of the arm with a No. 7 tap drill.

Lower Mounting Hook Engagement Clearance Check

Check the lower mounting hook engagement clearance with the truck carriage bar

Lower Hook Capscrews Tightening

Tighten the lower hook capscrews for Class II/III Mounting

Tighten the lower hook capscrews for Class IV Mounting

Upper Hook Capscrews Tightening for 70D, 80D, 100D Clamps

Tighten the upper hook capscrews

Clamp the extreme base end of the cylinder in a soft-jawed vise.

Remove the retainer using a claw type spanner wrench.

Remove the rod assembly from the cylinder.

Clamp the rod assembly on the wrench flats. Avoid clamping directly on the rod sealing surface.

Remove the nut fastening the piston to the rod using a wrench on the rod end nut flats to prevent rotation.

Place the piston or retainer in a soft-jawed vise to remove the seals. Pry the seals up with a blunt screwdriver and cut to remove.
