Ensure only trained and authorized personnel perform the cleaning

Verify that all safety equipment is in place and operational

Use a mild cleanser to wipe down the forks with a towel

IMPORTANT: Only trained and authorized personnel are allowed to service forks

IMPORTANT: To prevent weighing inaccuracies, the end user is responsible to check accuracy on a regular basis at intervals that best fit their application and requirements. Development of a periodic schedule will prevent faulty readings. Cascade recommends a minimum interval of every 12 months or 2000 hours, whichever comes first.

Tighten fork shoe nut to a torque of 82 ft.-lbs. (111 Nm)

Is it necessary to replace the cover spool, fork shoe capscrews and nuts?

Inspect the bottom of the forks for debris wedged between the fork and the fork shoe. Remove any debris found.

Check for pinched wires at bottom of battery holders.

Inspect the battery holders for damage and debris when the battery packs are changed. Remove any debris found.

Verify that the capscrews are tight and contact tabs are not damaged or bent.

Tighten contact point capscrews if required.

Ensure only trained and authorized personnel service the forks.

NOTE: Use fork calipers on forks up to and including 4 in. (100 mm) thick.

Fork Shoe Hardware Removal and Reassembly

Remove fork shoe hardware from forks.

Tighten fork shoe nut to a torque of 82 ft.-lbs. (111 Nm) for reassembly.

Fork Shank Thickness Measurement

Measure the fork shank thickness with the caliper outer teeth approximately 2 in. (50 mm) above top of blade.

Verify the accuracy of weighing equipment regularly

Inspection of Forks and Carriage

Inspect the fork lower hooks and carriage bar using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Inspect the upper carriage bar using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Inspect the fork upper hooks using Go/No-Go Wear Gauge Part No. 209560 or 209561

Was any repair or replacement needed after inspection?
