CAUTION: When replacing the indenter during a test, switch the screen of the display unit to the screen for test conditions, and then replace the indenter. The testing machine may start a test and cause injury if the replacement is performed while the display unit displays the home screen or the details screen for test results.

NOTICE: Be careful that the indenter does not touch other parts such as the specimen or anvil during replacement. Always keep the tip of the indenter clean.

Tips: If an indent has been added to a dirty specimen or if an indent is added to a clean specimen after the indenter has been touched by a finger, testing may be difficult due to the adhesion of dust, oil, or other dirt around the indent. In this case, lightly wipe the tip of the indenter with a clean cloth. If it is oily, wipe off oil with a cleaner such as alcohol.

Turn the up/down handle counterclockwise to lower the specimen stage.

Tips: When there is a specimen on the anvil, ensure sufficient space so that the indenter does not touch the specimen.

Hold both sides of the indenter with your fingers and pull it down from the tip of the loading arm.

Tips: If the indenter is dirty, wipe it with a clean cloth before storage.

Ensure that there is no dirt on the tip of the indenter to be mounted or on the tip of the loading arm.

Tips: If the contact faces between the tip of the indenter and the tip of the loading arm are dirty, accurate test results may not be able to be obtained. Wipe off any dirt in advance with a clean cloth.

Is the protective sheet particularly dirty or the display unit hard to see?

If the protective sheet is dirty or the display unit is hard to see, proceed with the replacement.

Hold the grip on the protective sheet with your fingers and slowly peel the protective sheet off.
