WARNING: When checking belt tensions, do not get your fingers caught between the belt and pulley.

Check pressure gages for proper readings.

Check motors, gear boxes and other parts for abnormal noises.

Check the motor lubrication, and sliding parts for evidence of proper lubrication.

Check safety covers and safety devices for proper operation.

Check belt tensions. Replace any set of belts that have become stretched with a fresh matching set.

Sign off on the machine inspection

Check the coolant for contamination

Check the hydraulic oils for contamination

Check the lubricants for contamination

Change the coolant if seriously contaminated

Change the hydraulic oils if seriously contaminated

Change the lubricants if seriously contaminated

CAUTION: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Machine warmed up for 10 to 20 minutes at about one-half or one-third the maximum speed in the automatic operation mode?

Automatic operation program caused each machine component to operate?

Operations of each machine component checked?

Spindle warmed up carefully, especially if it can turn above 4000 rpm?

Machine not used for actual machining immediately after being started up following a long idle period to prevent wear due to lack of oil?

Thermal expansion of the machine components checked to prevent jeopardizing machining accuracy?

Sign off on the machine warm-up
