Assess water mineral concentration

Rinse thoroughly with clean water

Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles (and/or face shield) when handling Ice Machine Cleaner or Sanitizer.

Ensure Manitowoc approved Ice Machine Cleaner/Descaler and Sanitizer are used.

Remove front door and top cover for access.

Set the toggle switch to the OFF position after ice falls from the evaporator or allow ice to melt off.

Remove all ice from the bin/dispenser.

Place the toggle switch in the CLEAN position and wait for water to flow over the evaporator.

Disconnect electric power to the ice machine head section and the remote condensing unit at the electric service switches

Inspect condenser fins for dirt using a flashlight

Is there visible dirt between the condenser fins?

Is the condenser clean after using the selected method?

Call a service agent if dirt remains after cleaning

Move the ICE/OFF/CLEAN switch to OFF

Disconnect and drain the incoming ice-making water line at the rear of the ice machine

Energize the ice machine and wait one minute for the water inlet valve to open

Blow compressed air in both the incoming water and the drain openings in the rear of the ice machine to remove all water

Gather cleaning supplies suitable for stainless steel

Ensure the area around the ice machine is clear of obstacles

Sponge dust and dirt off the ice machine with mild soap and water

Wipe dry with a clean, soft cloth

Are there any heavy stains on the ice machine?

Remove heavy stains with stainless steel wool if present
