Ensure motor is powered off and locked out

Gather necessary tools and materials, including compatible grease

Inspect motor bearings for signs of wear or damage

Are the bearings in severe application conditions?

If severe conditions are present, perform the following:

Does the motor have provisions for relubrication?

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Ensure the grease gun is ready and filled with NLGI #2 consistency grease

Record the current temperature of the fan bearings (°F)

Enter the number of grease injections used

Did a slight bead form around the bearing seals?

Check for excessive grease around the bearing seals

Is the fan exhausting corrosive or contaminated air?

Inspect the fan for any signs of corrosion or contamination

Check the following fan components for wear or damage

Is the fan operating within normal parameters?

Is the fan being used for general ventilation only?

Verify that the fan is not used to exhaust corrosive or contaminated air

Inspect the fan for any unusual noise or vibration

Check for any loose bolts or connections

Inspect the fan blades for any damage or wear

Ensure fan is operational before starting lubrication

Verify that the grease used is a petroleum lubricant in a lithium base conforming to an NLGI #2 consistency

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Enter the number of grease injections used

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals
