Identify motor service conditions and NEMA frame

Is the motor provided with provisions for relubrication?

Inspect motor bearings for signs of wear or damage

Clean motor bearings if necessary

Is lubrication required based on inspection?

Select compatible grease for lubrication

Lubricate motor bearings with selected grease

Establish a schedule for inspecting all parts of the fan

Inspect bolts and setscrews for tightness

Tighten bolts and setscrews as necessary

Inspect belt wear and alignment

Replace worn belts and adjust alignment as needed

Inspect bearings as recommended in the Conditions Chart

Inspect for cleanliness and clean exterior surfaces only

Verify motor nameplate for lubrication instructions

Are lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate different from standard instructions?

Is the motor bearing provisioned for relubrication?

Disassemble motor bearings for inspection and lubrication

Lubricate bearings with compatible grease (Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM or Chevron SRI)

Ensure fan is in operation before lubrication

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Enter the number of grease injections used

Ensure fan is in operation before lubrication

Verify that the bearing temperature is above 200°F

Adjust lubrication interval for special conditions
