Verify service conditions and specifications

Ensure the use of compatible grease (Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM or Chevron SRI)

Inspect motor bearings for wear and damage

Repair motor bearings if necessary

Dispose of any waste materials properly

Bearing Removal and Preparation

Remove any burrs from the shaft by sanding

Slide new bearings onto the shaft to the desired location and loosely mount bearings onto the bearing support

Ensure bearing bolts and setscrews are loose enough to allow shaft positioning

Bearing Positioning and Securing

Correctly position the wheel and tighten the bearing bolts securely to the bearing support

Align setscrews bearing to bearing and secure tightly to the shaft

Verify motor nameplate for lubrication instructions

Are lubrication instructions on the motor nameplate different from standard instructions?

Is the motor bearing provisioned for relubrication?

Disassemble motor bearings for inspection and lubrication if necessary

Use compatible grease for lubrication (Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM or Chevron SRI)

Verify service conditions are severe

Is the grease compatible with polyurea mineral oil NLGI #2?

Add compatible grease to motor bearings

Ensure fan is in operation before lubrication

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals
