Inspect belt wear and alignment

Refer to Belt and Pulley Installation

Inspect bearings as recommended in the Lubrication Conditions Chart

Does the entering air spin in the same direction as the wheel when vanes close?

Inspect springs and rubber isolators

Check shaft size and operation hours

Is the fan operating under extreme conditions (dirty/wet/rough)?

Is the operating temperature above 120°F?

Clean grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly without high pressure equipment

Lubricate the bearing while the fan is in operation

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Clean grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly without high pressure equipment

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Is excessive grease avoided to prevent seal burst?

Is excessive pressure avoided to prevent seal damage?

Use no more than three injections with a hand-operated grease gun if bearing cannot be seen

Verify lubrication instructions

Check shaft size and lubrication interval

Is the fan operating under higher temperature conditions?

Is the fan operating with a vertical shaft?

Clean the grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Ensure the use of NLGI #2 consistency grease

Inspect belt alignment and tension

Adjust and tighten belt as necessary
