Periodically inspect the unit to prevent damaging conditions

Check lubrication interval exceptions

Is the shaft size greater than 2 inches?

Is the operating temperature above 120°F?

Clean the grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Was excessive pressure avoided during lubrication?

Did fresh grease slip past the seal?

Inspect bolts and setscrews for tightness

Tighten bolts and setscrews as necessary

Replace worn setscrews immediately

Inspect belt wear and alignment

Replace worn belts and adjust alignment as needed

Inspect bearings as recommended in the Lubrication Conditions Chart

Check shaft size and lubrication interval

Is the fan operating under higher temperature conditions?

Clean the grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly without high pressure equipment

Is the fan in operation during lubrication?

Pump grease slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Avoid excessive pressure to prevent seal damage

Clean the grease nipple and vicinity thoroughly without high pressure equipment

Lubricate the bearing while the fan is in operation

Is the bearing visible during lubrication?

Number of grease injections used with hand-operated grease gun (if bearing is not visible)
