2 Monthly Fan Bearing Lubrication

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Conditions: RPM - Up to 1000, Temperature - 120 to 200 F

Fan Bearings: The fan bearings are provided prelubricated. Any specialized lubrication instructions on fan labels supersedes information provided herein.

Bearing grease is a petroleum lubricant in a lithium base conforming to an NLGI #2 consistency.

For moist or otherwise contaminated installations; divide the interval by a factor of three. For vertical shaft installations divide the interval by a factor of two.

For best results, lubricate the bearing while the fan is in operation. Pump grease in slowly until a slight bead forms around the bearing seals.

In the event that the bearing cannot be seen, use no more than three injections with a hand operated grease gun.

6 Monthly Motor Bearing Lubrication

Motors are provided with a polyurea mineral oil NGLI #2 grease. All additions to the motor bearings are to be with a compatible grease such as Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM and Chevron SRI.

The above intervals should be reduced to half for vertical shaft installations.

Nema Frame Size - Up to and Including 184T

RPM - Over 1800 RPM

Service Conditions - Standard

Nema Frame Size - 213T-365T

RPM - Over 1800 RPM

Service Conditions - Standard

Motors are provided with a polyurea mineral oil NGLI #2 grease. All additions to the motor bearings are to be with a compatible grease such as Exxon Mobil Polyrex EM and Chevron SRI.

The above intervals should be reduced to half for vertical shaft installations.

Nema Frame Size - Up to and Including 184T

RPM - 1800 RPM and Less

Service Conditions - Severe

Nema Frame Size - 213T-365T

RPM - 1800 RPM and Less

Service Conditions - Severe

Select the type of grease used

Motor bearings lubricated properly?

Enter the RPM of the motor

Enter the Nema Frame Size

Is the motor installed vertically?

If the motor is installed vertically, the lubrication intervals should be halved.

Sign off on the motor bearing lubrication
