Fan Shaft Speed Changing
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Loosen setscrew on driver (motor) pulley and remove key, if equipped.
Turn the pulley rim to
Inspect for proper belt tension.
Speed adjustment
Ensure that the RPM limits of the fan and the horsepower limits of the motor are maintained.
Sign off on the fan shaft speed changing
Initial 8 Hours Fan Inspection
Inspection of the fan should be conducted at the first 8 hour interval of satisfactory operation.
During the inspections, stop the fan and inspect as instructed.
8 Hour Interval
Inspect belt alignment and tension. Adjust and tighten as necessary.;
Fan Wheel-to-Inlet Clearance Adjustment
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
The correct wheel-to-inlet clearance is critical to proper fan performance.
Verify the clearance before initial start-up.
Adjust the overlap by loosening the wheel hub and moving the wheel along the shaft to obtain the correct value.
Check if the overlap has been adjusted correctly.
A uniform radial gap is obtained by loosening the bearing bolts and set screws which will allow for correct repositioning.
Check if the radial gap is uniform.
Sign off on the Fan Wheel-to-Inlet Clearance Adjustment
