Dirt Trap Cleaning
5.5 Cleaning the Dirt Trap
Ensure all safety precautions from Section 5.1 are followed
Remove the intake line
Remove the dirt trap from the intake flange
Rinse the dirt trap using a suitable solvent
Thoroughly dry the dirt trap with compressed air
Is the dirt trap damaged?
Replace the dirt trap if it is damaged

Safety Precautions
Switch off the pump and vent to atmospheric pressure before removing oil-drain or oil-fill plug.
Ensure the pump has cooled down to avoid burns from casing and oil exceeding 80 °C.
Wear protective gloves to protect against aggressive residues in the oil.
Oil Drainage
Use the oil-drain facility for safety and simplicity.
Unscrew the oil-drain screws (11/2) or (11/1) and the oil-fill screw (11/4) to drain the oil.
Clean the sealing surface and reinstall the oil-drain screw using a gasket in perfect condition.
Wipe off any oil residues from the casing.

5.2 Oil Change/Gear Box
Ensure all safety precautions are observed
Use the oil-drain facility for safety and simplicity
Unscrew the oil-drain screws (11/2) or (11/1) and the oil-fill screw (11/4) to drain the oil
Clean the sealing surface and reinstall the oil-drain screw using a perfect condition gasket
Wipe off any oil residues from the casing
Fill in new oil
Consult Sections 1.3 and 1.4 for oil quantities and ordering data
Ensure correct oil type is used
Shaft Seal Replacement
5.8 Exchanging the Shaft Seals
Check the condition of the shaft seals and bushing
Is the oil level in the oiler dropping?
Is there oil under the shaft seal housing?
Diagnosis — inner shaft seal fault
Is the inner shaft seal faulty?
Switch off the pump immediately if the inner shaft seal is faulty
Repair the pump if the inner shaft seal is faulty
Diagnosis — outer shaft seal fault

5.3 Oil change/shaft seal housing
Observe all safety information provided in Section 5.1
Unscrew the oil-drain screw (10/3) under the shaft seal housing
Drain out the oil
Screw in the oil-drain screw using a gasket in perfect condition
Fill in fresh oil at the oiler (10/1)
Is the oil level for the shaft seal housing visible in the oiler?
