LUBRICATE DISCHARGE CHUTE AND DEFLECTOR

Lubricate the chute rotation gear (A, Figure 20) and deflector hinge (B) with automotive type oil every twenty-five operating hours.

Check tires for damage. Check the air pressure in the tires with an accurate gauge.

CAUTION: Avoid Injury! Explosive separation of tire and rim parts is possible when they are serviced incorrectly.

Remove the Snow Hood

Check mark

To access the spark plug, the snow hood must be removed as follows:

1. Remove the choke control knob (A, Figure 23).

Check mark

2. Remove the key (B).

Check mark

3. Remove the mounting screws (C).

Check mark

4. Slowly remove the snow hood (A, Figure 24). Make sure that the primer button hose and the ignition wire are not disconnected.

5. The spark plug (B) can now be accessed.

Every Season Hex Shaft and Chains Lubrication

CAUTION: Do not allow grease or oil to contact the rubber friction wheel or the disc drive plate. If the disc drive plate or friction wheel come in contact with grease or oil damage to rubber friction wheel will result.

NOTICE: If grease or oil comes into contact with the disc drive plate or friction wheel, make sure to clean plate and wheel thoroughly with an alcohol base solvent.

Position speed select lever in first forward gear.

Drain fuel to an approved container.

Stand the snowthrower up on the auger housing end.

NOTE: When the crankcase is filled with oil, do not leave the snowthrower standing up on the auger housing for an extended period of time.

Remove the bottom panel.

Lubricate the chains, sprockets, and hex shaft before storage or at the beginning of each season, using a clean rag dipped in 5W30 Synthetic motor oil. Do NOT use grease.

NOTE: Use a clean rag to wipe away any excess oil from the chains, sprockets, and hex shaft.
