1200 Hourly Ball Bearing Lubrication
MAINTENANCE — Lubrication
Ensure the following conditions are met before lubrication
Shut down pump
Remove relief from back of ball bearing housing
Fill with grease until fresh grease flows from opening
Is an automatic lubrication system being used?
If yes, ensure reliefs are placed in the tapped hole (1/8" N.P.T.)
Ball Bearing Temperature Inspection
MAINTENANCE — Lubrication / START UP
Check ball bearing temperature using a pyrometer
Is the ball bearing temperature below 225°F?
Note if bearings seem to run tight and hot upon initial startup
Confirm if the pump operates normally after approximately 150 hours of service
Initial 300 Hours Coupling Alignment Check
INSTALLATION — Coupling Alignment (Chair Mounted Model ONLY)
Check Coupling Alignment before and after system start-up
Parallel Alignment Check
Place a straight-edge across the two coupling flanges and measure the maximum offset at various points around the periphery of the coupling.
Enter the maximum offset measured (in inches)
Does the maximum offset exceed 0.010 inches?
Realign the coupling if the maximum offset exceeds 0.010 inches.
Angular Alignment Check
Measure from the outside of one flange to the outside of the other at intervals around the periphery of the coupling using a micrometer or caliper.
Impeller Adjustment
Preparation
Disconnect coupling (#32) and remove sleeve (#32a)
Loosen three locking screws (#57)
Loosen three adjusting screws (#55)
Impeller Adjustment
Lightly tap shaft (#1) until impeller bottoms on the intake flange
Tighten three adjusting screws by hand until they touch ball bearing housing
Tighten three adjusting screws just up to the point where the shaft turns freely; then tighten each screw an additional ¼ turn
Tighten locking screws (#57) and jamb nuts (#56)

Disconnect electrical leads
Remove coupling guard
Disconnect coupling
Remove four motor retaining bolts
Break welds loose that hold discharge pipe cover plate to mounting plate
Remove bolts & nuts that hold discharge pipe to impeller housing
Remove discharge pipe
