INSTALLATION — Coupling Alignment (Chair Mounted Model ONLY)

Verify coupling alignment before and after system start-up

Check Parallel Alignment by placing a straight-edge across the two coupling flanges and measuring the maximum offset at various points around the periphery of the coupling. Realign if offset exceeds .010”.

Check Angular Alignment with a micrometer or caliper. Measure from the outside of one flange to the outside of the other at intervals around the periphery of the coupling. Ensure the difference between maximum and minimum does not exceed .010”.

Adjust Lateral Parallel Misalignment by loosening the four motor retaining bolts and adjusting lateral screws until alignment is achieved. If misalignment exceeds .020”, proceed to step e.

Adjust Horizontal Parallel Misalignment by loosening the four motor retaining bolts and adding or subtracting shims as needed. If more than 0.1875” total shims are required, proceed to step e.
