Pump Startup Check
START UP — After Start Up
Measure the discharge pressure
Measure the flow rate
Measure the motor amp draw
Record the location of the pressure gauge in relation to the liquid level
START UP — Final Checks
Verify if the mounting plate height is at least 1" above the highest possible liquid level
Check if the liquid level is at least 2" above the point at which the shaft exits the top of the pump end
Test shaft rotation for clockwise direction
Initial 300 Hours Coupling Alignment Check
INSTALLATION — Coupling Alignment (Chair Mounted Model ONLY)
Check Parallel Alignment
Check Angular Alignment
Adjust Coupling Alignment if Necessary
Adjust Lateral Parallel Misalignment
Adjust Horizontal Parallel Misalignment
Adjust Lateral Angular Misalignment
Adjust Horizontal Angular Misalignment
Final Adjustment if Alignment Cannot be Achieved
Bearing Maintenance
Bearing Installation
Clean the work area thoroughly
Apply mounting force against the ring being press-fitted
Ensure no pressure or hammer blows are applied to the other ring
Use an arbor press with a face block contacting only the bearing inner ring
Press the shaft through the bearing until seated firmly against the shaft shoulder
Ensure the tubing is clean and slightly greater in diameter than the bearing journal
Ensure the tubing end is square and contacts only the bearing inner ring
Align the shaft with the ram of the arbor press to avoid cocking
Ball Bearing Temperature Inspection
MAINTENANCE — Lubrication / START UP
Measure the temperature of the ball bearings using a pyrometer
Is the temperature of the ball bearings below 225°F?
Record observations about the bearing temperature and any unusual conditions during startup
Confirm that the pump operates normally after approximately 150 hours of service
600 Hourly Ball Bearing Lubrication
MAINTENANCE — Lubrication
Shut down pump
Remove relief from back of ball bearing housing
Fill with grease until fresh grease flows from opening
If automatic lubrication system is being used, place reliefs in the tapped hole (1/8" N.P.T.)
Check that all safety precautions are followed
