Bearing Maintenance
Bearing Installation
Clean the work area thoroughly
Ensure mounting force is applied against the ring being press-fitted
Avoid forcing the bearing onto a shaft by pressure or hammer blows applied to the other ring
Ensure the bearing is not press-fitted into housing by force applied to the inner ring
Use an arbor press with a face block contacting only the bearing inner ring
Press the shaft through the bearing until it is seated firmly against the shaft shoulder
Ensure the tubing is clean and slightly greater in diameter than the bearing journal
Ensure the end of the tubing is square and contacts only the bearing inner ring

Remove four motor retaining bolts
Break welds loose that hold discharge pipe cover plate to mounting plate
Remove bolts & nuts that hold discharge pipe to impeller housing
Remove discharge pipe
Chair and Drive Motor: 52VHD Power Frame
Pump Startup Check
START UP — After Start Up
Measure and record the discharge pressure
Measure and record the flow rate
Measure and record the motor amp draw
Note the location of the pressure gauge in relation to the liquid level
START UP — Final Checks
Verify mounting plate height
Check liquid level
Test shaft rotation
Ball Bearing Temperature Inspection
MAINTENANCE — Lubrication / START UP
Check ball bearing temperature using a pyrometer
Is the ball bearing temperature below 225°F?
Note if bearings seem to run tight and hot upon initial startup
Confirm if the pump operates normally after approximately 150 hours of service
